While returning from visiting my friends Tom, Trish, and Zoe I almost ran into this critter. Cow moose like the wilder neighborhoods in the Anchorage bowl, like Hillside, as they suffer less predation from the local wolves and brown bears. Fortunately I had my camera handy and could snap these pictures.

I once had the surprize of my morning when I opened my apartment door on my way to work and immediately ran into a very soft velvety moose nose. I quickly backpeddled through my doorway. As I peered out the window I was surprized to see the moose return to eating her morning breakfast as if nothing happened ... my mountain ash tree planted next to my front and only door. After pondering my options I called into work saying I couldn't get to work because I was trapped by a moose. Only in Alaska would a boss believe this.
